Graffiti reported by city police

Mount Pleasant police are reporting multiple graffiti complaints throughout the city, according to a press release issued by the department.

MPPD Public Information Officer Jeff Thompson said there have been at least a dozen locations marked with graffiti. He said the reports started coming in on Monday, although there are several locations where property owners did not file a report.

The damages totaled more than $1,000, police said. The department is offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved.

The incidents appear to involve to same person or persons, police said, due to the colors used, proximity and design of graffiti.

Thompson said as of Thursday morning, MPPD did not have any information to identify potential suspects. He said there may be the potential to see the person or persons involved in surveillance videos throughout the city.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact MMPD central dispatch at 989-773-1000, or the police tip line at 989-779-9111.
