CMU to launch Global Campus location in downtown Detroit

Central Michigan University’s award-winning global campus program is gearing up to open it’s newest space it acquired earlier this year: An office in the heart of the Motor City.

The 400-square-foot property is located at 777 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit and will be primarily devoted to CMU’s admissions and global outreach efforts.

Global Campus’ Detroit location will hold summer classes and other enrollment programs along once it is opened.

Opening the office in Detroit will be CMU’s first attempt to reach potential students in the city physically, rather than digitally – Global Campus is well known for its online programs and courses. Previously, the university opened locations in a few Metro-Detroit suburbs, such as Auburn Hills, Dearborn and Livonia, but not in Detroit.

  1. Forgive me if I’m mistaken, but wasn’t this announced more than six months ago? In fact, a previous story here says the center was supposed to open this past spring: http://www.cm-life.com/2013/11/08/detroit-global-campus-on-schedule-to-open-in-spring-14/.

      Guest,

Central Michigan University officials will open the new Detroit Global Campus post on June 18. So yes, while we reported it was opening in an earlier story, this one served to announce the launch.
