A defeated volleyball team solemnly walked off the court and began recounting the opportunities passed in the 3-0 sweep to Eastern Michigan Thursday in Rose Arena.

The volleyball team is now 6-5 in the Mid-American Conference, losing each set in Thursday's match by three points or less.

“It is not a good feeling,” said sophomore middle blocker Kaitlyn Schultz. “We didn’t show up to play. We weren’t ready. Its just not a good feeling right now.”

Central saw set points slip in the first and second set and failed to get the final point both times.

The team was held without an ace and committed nine service errors. However, CMU had more kills, a better hitting percentage and digs than Eatern Michigan.

“It was one of those matches where we seemed to win every statistic, but couldn’t get the win,” said coach Erik Olson. “Eastern put together a great defense and they made us play. We did everything we could on defense, but we weren’t anything special on offense.”

The loss ended a seven-game losing streak for EMU.

The Chippewas are back at home for their final match against an MAC East division opponent 7 p.m. Saturday against Kent State.

“We are going to learn what we can from this match and move on,” Schultz said. “We are going to get back in the gym and not let this loss have an effect on us for Saturd
