State police: Suspect for first of five reported robberies might not be behind the other four

Michigan State Police say the suspect wanted for the first in a string of five reported armed robberies might be different than the suspect wanted for the other four.

The suspect wanted for robbing the Next Door Food Store, 2025 E. Remus Road, just after midnight on Saturday is described as a clean-shaven white, possibly Hispanic, man with a 5-foot, 9-inch, medium build and short, black hair.

"There are some similarities in this robbery with the four the city had, but I am not convinced it is the same guy from the other robberies," Michigan State Police Sgt. Gary Green said in an email to reporters.

Following the robbery, the suspect fled in an unknown vehicle.

That suspect's description is similar to the suspect wanted for the four other reported robberies that have happened since Saturday. He is described as a roughly 5-foot, 9-inch Hispanic male with a medium build and possible chin hair.
