Sophomore guard Sheldon Lowman removed from men's basketball team roster

Sheldon Lowman, a former transfer student from Mid-Michigan Community College and walk-on player for the men's basketball team, was not present for Central Michigan's game against Ball State Wednesday night.

The Rochester Hills sophomore was absent from the game day roster and was deleted from the team's official online roster.

Head coach Keno Davis declined to comment on Lowman's absence during the post-game press conference Wednesday. CMU athletic communications also declined comment.

After no college scholarship offers, Lowman, found a roster spot on the MMCC basketball team before transferring to CMU and making the team as a walk-on under Davis in April 2012.

The guard appeared in six games for the Chippewas this season, averaging 1.7 points, but hasn’t played in a game since Jan. 3 due to a knee injury.

Central Michigan Life attempted to contact Lowman, but he could not be reached for comment.
