Mitchell Sauve, 23, was found in Gladwin on March 4, according to his obituary. He was buried in Escanaba, MI, as the family has ties to the Upper Peninsula.

Public Information Officer Jeff Thompson said the cause of death might dictate what kind of information os being shared with the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Neither the CMU Police Department nor the Mount Pleasant Police Department had any involvement with the death as it occurred outside their jurisdiction.

Born in Bransk, Russia, Sauve moved to Gladwin County in 2003. He attended Gladwin High School, graduating in 2010. Sauve was a member of 4-H and became an Eagle Scout while in school.

He is survived by his mother Marge, and brother Morgan. According to the obituary, those wishing to send an expression of sympathy are encouraged to direct them to the Gladwin Athletic Association.

Services were held on March 10.
