Mid-Michigan Community College names Hammond as new president

Christine M. Hammond, the dean of student instruction and success at North Central Michigan College, was named as Mid-Michigan Community College's new president.

Hammond will assume the role as president effective Aug. 4. The college was previously led by Carol Churchill, who held the position for seven years.

Hammond brings "significant expertise in institutional research, curriculum alignment and development, and strategic planning," according to a press release issued by MMCC.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Hammond began her career in higher education at Cooley Law School in Lansing, where she spearheaded the Office of Faculty Development.

She will be the sixth president in MMCC's 49 year history as a state institution.
