MAC Football: Davis, Walton set to represent CMU in Detroit on Media Day

Central Michigan University's 2014 college football season is quickly approaching and CMU football fans will get a sneak peak at two of the university's potential standouts next week.

The Mid-American Conference will host 2014 Football Media Day from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at Ford Field in Detroit. CMU head coach Dan Enos will join two seniors, wide receiver Titus Davis and defensive lineman Leterrius Walton, as the group addresses professional media and fans in the Motor City.

MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher will address the media at noon with player and coach interviews following.

Titus Davis and his Western Michigan University Bronco brother Corey are the only two MAC West Division wide receivers scheduled to attend. Walton is the only defensive lineman in the MAC West and one of only three linemen in the entire conference invited to the event. Davis was named to the Biletnikoff Award Pre-season Watch List Tuesday.

The award goes to the nation's top wide receiver annually.

Walton, meanwhile, started all 12 games the Chippewas played last season, totaling 34 tackles including a career-high seven takedowns in CMU's loss to Miami (Ohio) last year. Walton first tasted the spotlight when he tackled three Hilltoppers during the Chippewas victory in the 2012 Little Ceaser's Pizza Bowl against Western Kentucky.
