Mount Pleasant makes offer to communications director candidate
The City of Mount Pleasant has yet to officially hire a communications director, though the city has taken a step toward filling the position.
The individual, whose hiring is considered a personnel matter and cannot be named, is currently in the process of completing all pre-employment screenings said, Laura Veldhuis, senior executive assistant of the city's Human Resources department.
"We did make an offer of conditional employment to a candidate," she said. "Only one offer has been extended."
According to a release from the city the selected individual will be "responsible for protecting and preserving the assets of the City of Mount Pleasant and its citizens."
