Mount Pleasant Planning Commission to hold public hearing, site review on new Pickard duplex

Planning commissioners will hold a public hearing and a site plan review for a proposed new duplex on Pickard Road at its regular meeting on Thursday.

Commissioners postponed both items in April. The site plan review will also address any potential areas of improvement on the site before the duplex is built. The site, 1707 W. Pickard Road, is located in the R-3 zoning district.

The R-3 district borders the M-2 district, which was a focus for commissioners during their last work session.

Commissioners will also address the city's master plan and will discuss its next steps in the process.

Other new business includes a proposed text change for the Mission redevelopment overlay zoning district and the impending street vacation of Franklin Street.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in City Hall's Commission Chambers. The meetings are open to the public and public input is encouraged.
