SOS Dirty Dog Run Saturday

Athletes participating in the SOS Dirty Dog Trail Run can enjoy a challenging off-road run alongside their canine companion.

The 10K run is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Midland City Forest. All events start and end at the City Forest Trail at 2840 E. Monroe Rd.

Registration is scheduled for 8 a.m. After the 10K starts, a 5K run is scheduled for 9:10 a.m. followed by a 5K walk at 9:15 a.m.

Dogs are welcome to participate on the course, which is a combination of unpaved two-track and single track trails that traverses 520 acres of the City Forest Park in Midland. The course will have participants trudging through woods, creeks, marshes and bridges.

The event holds three divisions for men, women and children under 13-years-old.

Those interested can sign up online at sosanimalrescure.org. Application fees for the 10K and 5K run/walk are $30 and $10 for a 1 mile children's walk.
