Chip Chat: Men's basketball players Braylon Rayson and Luke Meyer
Sophomore Braylon Rayson and freshman Luke Meyer have different personalities, but a comparable drive for keeping the Chippewas’ home win streak in tact.
Meyer stands nearly two feet taller than Rayson, yet both Chippewas play a vital role in Head Coach Keno Davis’ lineup.
What is your major?
Braylon Rayson: Sports management.
Luke Meyer: Product design engineering.
How do you get pumped up before a game?
Rayson: I come out I have my headphones in and I start shooting free throws, then I back it up a little bit and keep shooting.
Meyer: I don’t have too much of a routine. I just do what feels right for that day.
What is your favorite song right now?
Rayson: “Rich homie,” by Milk Marie.
Meyer: “Wild For The Night,” by A$AP Rocky.
What is your least favorite MAC team to play?
Rayson: “Everyone is tough. I learned that you can be the bottom team and wind up beating the top team. Anything can happen on any given day.”
Meyer: “I haven’t played everyone in the MAC yet but Akron and Buffalo are two tough ones. After the games against them I was definitely hurting because they were so physical.”
What is your favorite NBA team?
Rayson: “I root for the Mavericks sometimes because I’m from Dallas but I don’t really have a favorite team.”
Meyer: “The Pistons. Definitely and always.”
LeBron James or Kevin Durant?
Rayson: “LeBron. He’s my favorite player.”
Meyer: “I like Kevin Durant more but I think LeBron would win one-on-one.”
Who is the best dunker on the team?
Rayson: “I would say either Luke or myself.”
Meyer: “I think it’s myself, honestly. “
What has been the team’s best win of the season?
Rayson: “Northwestern, Toledo and Buffalo were all big wins. Those are my top three.”
Meyer: “Either Northwestern, Toledo or Buffalo. One of those three.”
