Huntey named MAC West Player of the Week
Senior catcher Tyler Huntey has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.
Last weekend against Ohio, Huntey hit a combined .500 and posted a .615 on-base percentage in the three games at Theunissen Stadium.
The best game of the series for Huntey came during Saturday’s 9-3 victory. He went 2-for-3 at the plate, which included his second home run of the season, while scoring three runs.
Huntey had five hits, 10 total bases and three runs batted in during the MAC opening series against the Bobcats.
In Sunday’s 4-0 win Huntey recorded two doubles and two runs.
Defensively Huntey was just as consistent, finishing the weekend series with 15 putouts and a fielding percentage of 1.000.
This is Huntey’s third career MAC West Player of the Week honor.
