May commencement speakers announced


During Central Michigan University's four commencement ceremonies on May 8 and 9, there will be three different speakers.

The doctoral ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. May 8 in Plachta Auditorium. Joseph S. Francisco, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Elmer H. and Ruby M. Cordes Chair in Chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will speak. He will also speak at the 5:30 p.m. undergraduate and graduate ceremony May 9. 

At 9 a.m., Melanie Bergeron will speak at the undergraduate and graduate ceremony in McGuirk Arena. Bergeron is the chair of "Two Men and a Truck," a business which she grew by $198 million after being named president. 

Documentary filmmaker Thomas Morgan will address graduates during the 1 p.m. ceremony at the arena. The CMU alumnus uses his documentaries to increase awareness of social issues.
