Vagina Monologues takes place this weekend


The annual Vagina Monologues will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The event is presented by and stars Central Michigan University students. Tickets cost $5 and proceeds will go to One Billion Rising, a campaign to end domestic violence against women, and Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates, CMU's 24-hour crisis hotline for victims and secondary victims of sexual violence.

The first show will be at 7 p.m. April 23. The next show will be at 7 p.m. April 24, and the last show is at 2 p.m. April 25. All performances will be in Anspach Hall. An exact room location is to be determined.

Written by author and activist Eve Ensler, the Vagina Monologues were first performed in 1996. The show celebrates the stories of women all over the world.
