Central Michigan University's golf team began their season over the weekend in East Lansing.

The team struggled, falling to last place in the 12-team, three-round annual tournament at Forest Akers West.

The Chippewas team score tallied to 146 over par once the final round was finished Sunday. Five team triple bogies and eight team double bogies plagued the Chippewas in their second round, damaging their overall score.

Sophomores Kristen Wolfe and Bria Colosky lead the way for the Chippewas.

Wolfe was 15 over par after two rounds and Colosky lead the team on Sunday at seven over.

Notre Dame came in first place at 23 over par, followed by Michigan State and Toledo.

Team and individual scores were live scored at www.birdiefire.com.

The team will head to the Players Club in Yorktown, Indiana for the Cardinal Classic Sept. 21-22.
