Weidman woman dead after two-vehicle car crash on High Street
A 79-year-old Weidman woman died Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on High Street near Henry Street, according to Mount Pleasant Police Officers.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, said Public Information Officer Jeff Browne. The crash is still under investigation. The woman's name is being withheld until the family can be notified, Browne said.
At approximately 2:23 p.m., a truck traveling westbound on on High Street crossed into oncoming traffic near Henry Street. The driver, a 79-year-old Mount Pleasant man, collided head-on with the woman's vehicle heading eastbound on High Street.
Mount Pleasant police were assisted by the Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response and Michigan State Police.
