Comics sit on the shelves of the Hall of Heroes waiting for a reader. Come check out the Hall of Heroes at 1620 South Mission Street for a free comic book on May 2.

The Hall of Heroes is hosting the second Free Comic Book Day of 2015, called Halloween ComicFest, on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

“We will have several hundred books on hand. Halloween ComicFest is a new event began by the publishers because one Free Comic Book Day a year just isn’t enough,” said Michael Travis-Shuler, owner of The Hall of Heroes.

There will be free comics for the public — limited to three per person — and a photo opportunity with Thor from noon to 1 p.m. A Halloween costume contest offers participants a chance to win in children, solo and couples categories.

This is a family friendly event and admission is free and open to the public. The Hall of Heroes is located at 1620 S. Mission St. in Campus Court Mall.
