A car accident was called in at 7:53 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 on East Broomfield Rd. resulting in non-life threatening injuries in passengers and two totaled cars.

More than one person was taken to the hospital when a car accident was called in at 7:53 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12.

One car was going eastbound on East Broomfield Rd. when it was hit by a car pulling out of Collegiate Way. Mount Pleasant Police Officer Dale Hawks said he didn’t know if the people involved were students or not, and said the injuries they suffered were not life threatening, but that more than one person was taken to the hospital.

“It’s kind of a bad intersection because the speeds on Broomfield and a lot of kids live in the apartments (nearby), there is a high volume of traffic.”

The police officer described the accident as pretty standard.
