An assault was reported around 1 a.m. Monday when a resident assistant, 24, in Carey Hall was spat on by an 18 year-old male student living in the residence hall. Lt. Cameron Wassman of the Central Michigan University Police Department said the incident was not preceded by any interaction between the two. The suspect was found to be intoxicated. The victim chose not to pursue charges and the incident was forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct.

A three car accident at the intersection of West Campus Drive and Broomfield Street occurred Sunday afternoon, when a 48 year-old woman driving west along Broomfield ran a red light and struck another vehicle heading south, which in turn struck another car in the adjacent lane. Wassman said minor injuries occurred, but no one was taken to the hospital. The 48 year-old woman was found to be at fault and given a ticket.

A small amount of a substance suspected to be marijuana was found in the possession of an 18 year-old male student in Emmons Hall  on Friday evening after residents reported they could smell the drug within the building. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Police officers were called Thursday morning after a fight in Calkins Hall between two roommates. An argument between the two male students, ages 18 and 19, led to one of the residents punching the other in the face and the other tackling him to the ground. The incident was forwarded to the Isabella County prosecutor for review.

Another assault was reported Wednesday after midnight when a student was walking along Broomfield Street. The victim, a 19 year-old man, was approached by another person and punched in the face. Wassman said no interaction proceeded the incident and that police checked surveillance footage, but were unable to identify the attacker.

An 18 year-old male student was found intoxicated at Merrill Hall shortly after midnight on Wednesday. The student was escorted by police to Campbell Hall where another male student, also 18, was found intoxicated. Wassman said the student refused to cooperate with police and return to his room and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

A 68 year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning for a carrying a concealed weapon. Police pulled the Mount Pleasant resident over near the intersection of Pickard Road and Harris Street for an improper license plate and found three throwing knives within his vehicle, said Mount Pleasant Police Officer Jeff Browne. The driver was also arrested driving with a suspended license and having no insurance on the vehicle.

Mount Pleasant Police cited 10 people Tuesday evening for liquor violations. Seven were for minor in possession, two were for minor in possession and disorderly conduct and one was for open intoxicants.
