Office of Diversity Education to host inaugural diversity and inclusion symposium


The Office of Diversity Education will host its first diversity and inclusion symposium from 8:15 a.m. to noon on Wednesday in the Bovee University Center Rotunda.

This year’s theme is “Diversity and Inclusion Matters: What Lies Ahead?” The goal of the program is to increase awareness and knowledge about diversity and inclusion. The event will include keynote speaker Laura Liswood, a general session on “Facing the Challenge: A New Generation of 21st Century Professionals and Practitioners," breakout sessions and lunch.

Breakout sessions consist of “Dispelling Myths: Breaking Down Boundaries for Creating More Inclusive Environments,” “Theatre as a Social Justice Medium,” “Communicating Across Cultures” and “Bring Your Best: Showcase Your Unique Talents and Gifts to Find and Create Environments that Matter.”

Faculty, administrators, students and community members can participate; however, registration is closed at this time.
