April 24

Graffiti was found on a barn door and railroad equipment on campus in parking lot 1. The graffiti was made with marker and was unintelligible. Police said there was video footage of people in the vicinity, but were unable to identify any suspects.

A 2010 Chevy Cobalt was found with a broken rear taillight in front of Merrill Hall. Police believe the damage occurred between 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Video surveillance showed significant pedestrian traffic at the time of the incident. No suspect was identified. The owner is a 20-year-old woman.

April 23

A group of people walking through Veits Woods west of campus discovered a blanket and a pair of jeans for an 18-month-old. Police collected the clothing and found no evidence of foul play in the area. No other clothing items were found in the woods.

April 22

CMU Police are investigating a case of criminal sexual conduct on campus. The incident was reported by the victim Friday. The incident had allegedly occurred a week earlier. No other information is available.

April 20

Mount Pleasant Police were called to the Laurel's of Mount Pleasant Nursing Home after an altercation occurred between two of the residents. A 73-year-old man hit an 87-year-old man in the chest. The two had been arguing before the altercation. No injuries were reported and no charges were filed.

April 19

A 21-year-old Macomb man was arrested for public urination near Wayside Central. The suspect was intoxicated at the time.

A campus parking permit which had been reported stolen was found in the vehicle of a CMU student. The suspect said he bought the permit from someone else. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Mount Pleasant Police were called to Island Park after a 21-year-old Mount Pleasant man assaulted another man. The victim was a 22-year-old Edmore man. The two had ongoing differences and were arguing when the suspect punched the victim. No serious injuries occurred. The incident was referred to the County Prosecutor.

A 28-year-old Mount Pleasant man reported a money scam on Craigslist cost him $3,500. The buyer claimed he overpaid for an item and asked the man to wire the extra funds to him. The victim did so, but the original payment did not go through.

April 18

A 23-year-old Mount Pleasant woman reported that her home was broken into and a watch stolen. The victim believed she knew who the suspect was. Police are still attempting to contact the individual. Shards from a broken window and latent fingerprints were collected as evidence.

A 31-year-old Mount Pleasant man after grabbing a a woman and throwing her to the floor. The victim, a 38-year-old Mount Pleasant woman, suffered no serious injuries.
