Max & Emily's announces summer concert lineup


This year's Max & Emily's annual concert series will feature seven different shows in downtown Mount Pleasant during the summer.

The annual series was started in 2008. 

The series will begin June 23 with Olivia Millerschin from Detroit. Millerschin opened for Jeff Daniels last summer. She is the 2014 award winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and was a quarter-finalist on NBC's America's Got Talent.

Kelley Hunt from Kansas City will perform for the first time in Mount Pleasant on July 14 with her five-piece band. 

Mid-Michigan's The Saucecats will perform on July 21. The band features funk, zydeco and blues-style sound, as well as a blend of Latin and Caribbean music. 

A returning performer, Brian Vander Ark, will take the stage Aug. 4. He is the found of band The Verve Pipe. Ark will bring along husband and wife duo Channing and Quinn, who performed during the series last summer.

The Ben Daniels Band, which usually performs with actor Jeff Daniels, will take the stage on its own this year on Aug. 11. The band will deliver Americana, blues, jazz and rock. 

For the first time, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers will perform during the series on Aug. 18. 

Finally, Michigan band The Ragbirds will close the series on Aug. 27 will a style of folk and rhythmic percussion.
