Jeff Daniels performs along side the Ben Daniels Band at the Max and Emily's Summer Concert Series on Aug. 29 in downtown Mount Pleasant. The crowd was estimated to be 2,500.

Max and Emily’s concert series begins with Olivia Millerschin, a Detroit singer-songwriter, on June 23 at 7 p.m. The performance will be the first of seven concerts spanning over three months.

Millerschin opened for Jeff Daniels last August and was a finalist in three 2013 and two 2014 Detroit Music Awards. She was the winner of the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting Contest and a quarter finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Kelley Hunt is the second performer of the series, performing her soulful blues style songs with her five-piece band on July 14.

The mid-Michigan band, The Saucecats, will perform on July 21. The Saucecats is the only artist in Max and Emily’s concert series history to have a 10-person conga line snaking through downtown.

Brian Vander Ark, a singer-songwriter and lead singer for the band The Verve Pipe, will perform August 4. Two special guests, Channing and Quinn, will join Ark as both lead and backup vocals.

The Ben Daniels Band will perform their youthful, energetic style August 11. The band’s sound spans Americana, blues, jazz and rock.

Joe Hertler and The Rainbow Seekers will return to Mount Pleasant with their folk tunes August 18. Hertler has performed at various venues around Mount Pleasant, but this will be their first performance at Max and Emily’s.

The series closes with The Ragbirds’ folk music and percussion section August 27.
