A 19-year-old Alma man was arrested after attempting to leave Ric's Food Center on Mission Street with sausage hidden under his shirt.

A 63-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested after attempting to escape from police on a moped. An officer attempted to pull the man over after he ran a flashing red light. The driver attempted to escape into a yard, but was caught. The suspect was intoxicated at the time, and did not have a license or registration.

A 69-year-old Mount Pleasant man reported his taxes had been falsely filed.

A 70-year-old Mount Pleasant man reported someone had entered his garage and taken catering equipment and a vacuum. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $400.

Police responded to reports of a dog that had been barking for two hours on the 200 block on Oak Street. An officer found the dog with its leash wrapped around a pole, unable to reach its food or water and lying in feces. The officer knocked on the owner's door, but received no response and took the dog to an animal shelter. The dog was later picked up by the owners, a 23-year-old Mount Pleasant man and a 23-year-old Mount Pleasant woman. The incident has been referred to the prosecutor's office.
