College of Business to kick off New Venture Competition season Sept. 7


While the New Venture Competition is still several months away, potential participants are already thinking about their ventures.

The New Venture Kick-Off is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 in Grawn Hall, room 150. Those interested in pursuing the competition are encouraged to attend. 

Faculty associated with New Venture Competition will go over what students can expect throughout the semester while participating in the competition. Dates will be outlined and students will be able to converse with staff that have worked with the competition for several years.

Food will be provided to those in attendance. 

Following the kick-off event, an ideation bootcamp is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in Grawn Hall room 278.

Students will be able to discuss ideas they are interested in pursuing for the competition. They will also be able to work with professionals to help put them on the right path to making their ventures a reality.

The New Venture Competition is an annual event sponsored by the College of Business. More than $78,000 are regularly given away in awards to budding entrepreneurs interested in the field of business. Any student can enter in the New Venture Competition.
