For students disappointed that Mainstage was cancelled this year, a Student Engagement Expo will be held on Sunday in Finch Fieldhouse.

The event will host a variety of activities and on-campus student groups from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., as well as students from the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center who will be handing out ribbons in remembrance of the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

“We don’t want to let 9/11 slip away and the day that travesty occurred in our country,” said Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center director Shawna Ross. “It’s a way to remember all the lives that were taken away on that day, now 15 years ago, which is hard to believe.”

Ross hopes that by encouraging remembrance at the Student Engagement Expo, it will help the center reach more students than on a typical Sunday evening.
