Cross country teams finished 8th, 19th at Pre-National Invitational

Monica Bradburn | File Photo The CMU women's and men's cross country teams placed third and fourth respectively Saturday in Canton, Ohio for the Cross Country Mid-American Conference Championships.

Central Michigan's women’s cross country team finished eighth out of twenty five teams at the 2016 Pre-National Invitational over the weekend.

The team finished with with 241 points. Oregon State was the top finisher in the women 6K with 114 points.

Central Michigan's top five runners were Kelly Schubert (21:39) in 15th, Kirsten Olling (22:05) in 36th, Megan O’Neal (22:08) in 37th, Hannah Davis (22:22) in 52nd and Samantha Allmacher (23:12) in 106th.

The Central Michigan men's cross country team finished 19th out of twenty teams. It had 375 points in the men's 8K.

Ohio University was the top finisher in the men's 8K with 132 points.

Central Michigan's top five runners were Spencer Nousian (25:50) in 40th, Joseph Emmanuel (25:54) in 43rd, Bransen Stimpfel (26:27) in 77th, Alec Omell (26:51) in 104th, and Casey Voisin (27:20) in 116th.

Up next for the Chippewas is the MAC Championships on Oct. 29 in Kent, Ohio.
