Virginia’s sophomore Will Schany pushes junior Jordan Ellingwood in the wrestling match against Virginia on Nov. 13 in McGuirk Arena.

Coming off of a successful dual victory against Ohio last Sunday, the No.13 ranked Central Michigan wrestling team returns home for a Top-25 match.

The Chippewas will host No. 22 Northern Iowa at 2 p.m. in McGuirk Arena. Last year's dual meet between the two teams saw CMU walk out of Cedar Rapids with a 22-11 win over the Panthers.

“It will be a real competitive duel meet” said head coach Tom Borrelli. “There are some great matchups in the dual meet as far as weight classes. They have a good team.”

Sophomore Justin Oliver said he expects a competitive match between he and NIU's Max Thomsen -- No. 8 ranked wrestler according to intermatwreste.com -- in the 149-pound match.

“I’m excited” he said. “I have a pretty tough kid to wrestle. It’s always fun to have good competition come into your home gym. I’m excited to wrestle him for the first time, hopefully we can get a big crowd to make it even more exciting.”

In addition to Thomsen, the Panthers feature No.10 Dylan Peters (125), No. 10 Josh Albers (133), No. 8 Bryce Steiret (165), No. 11 Taylor Lujan (171) and No. 16 Drew Foster (184) in their respective weight divisions.

The dual meet can also be streamed live on ESPN 3.
