Knapp named MAC West Pitcher of the Week
Following a weekend road trip to Florida where she threw a total of three complete games, Central Michigan senior pitcher Rachael Knapp has been selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week.
Knapp recorded 38 strikeouts against three Chippewa opponents in the Madeira tournament, allowing only 11 hits during the weekend.
The St. Joseph native is currently ranked second in the conference with 49 strikeouts on the year. Knapp also leads the conference in total work, with 41 innings pitched which is seven more than the next active MAC pitcher.
CMU has a break this weekend from action, but will travel back to Florida, this time in Clearwater, for a weeklong stretch of games starting March 3.
