Open Forum to discuss immigration executive order scheduled for Friday

The Office of Diversity Education will present an open forum discussing an immigration executive order signed by President Donald Trump at 1 p.m. Friday in the Charles V. Park Library Auditorium.

The event is sponsored by the Office of International Affairs, the Office for Institutional Diversity & Inclusion and the Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity.

In the Facebook event description, the open forum will discuss President Trump’s executive order signed last Friday.

The forum will discuss the executive order’s effect on Central Michigan University students, faculty and staff. It will be open to the entire CMU community, according to the the event page.

President Trump signed an executive order last Friday which blocked refugees and citizens from seven countries from entering the U.S. for 90 days. Those seven countries are Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. It also suspended refugees from entering the U.S. for 120 days.
