Colosky leads CMU at the GCU Invitational

The Central Michigan women’s golf team finished in 9th place out of 10 teams at the Grand Canyon University invitational this weekend.

The Chippewas shot a 963 for the weekend, beating Chicago State who shot a 997 and narrowly behind Nebraska-Omaha who shot a 954.

The field was compromised of 55 total players from the 10 teams.

Portland State won the invitational with three of their players finishing in the top three. Their total score was an 876.

Sophomore Bria Colosky led the team finishing in 18th place with a scored of 229. On Saturday Colosky had back-to-back rounds where she shot a 76 which included three birdies. She recorded a score of 77 in the third round. 

The Chippewas finished with 13 birdies total. Junior Natalie Johnson finished 41st with a 243, junior Holly Hines finished 45th with a 245, junior Kristen Wolfe finished 47th with a 249, and freshman Katie Logan finished 49th with a 251. Freshman Danielle Sawyer played as an individual and finished tied for 38th with a 242.

CMU plays next in the Georgia State John Kirk Panther invitational on March 26-28 in Stockbridge, Georgia at the Eagles Landing Country Club.
