List of permanent road closures in Isabella County, flood warnings continue


Isabella County Road Commission released a list of roads that will remain closed permanently after being washed away by the flood this weekend.

By "permanent," it means the roads are in need of major repairs and will take a while to fix.

A hazardous weather outlook and flood warnings continue in Isabella County through Wednesday. Mount Pleasant got between five and eight inches of rain overnight Thursday and another one to two inches on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Roads that remain close indefinitely are:

  • Rolland between Deerfield and Millbrook.
  • Loomis between Broadway and Remus.
  • Wise between Pickard and Remus.
  • Remus between Wise and Chippewa.
  • Leaton between Baseline and Valley.
  • Meridian between Pickard and Remus.
  • Meridian between Pickard and River.
  • Deerfield between Nottawa and Vandecar.
  • Rosebush between Genuine and Loomis.
  • Loomis between Vernon and Denver.
  • Loomis between Vernon and Battle.
  • Loomis between Beal and Jordan.
  • Beal between Loomis and Chippewa.
  • Wise south of Beal City Road.
  • Deerfield between Shepherd and Loomis.
  • Shepherd between Beal City and Jordan.
  • Pleasant Valley between Curtiss and Winn.
  • Blanchard between Lincoln and Crawford.
  • Summerton between Millbrood and Crawford.
  • Walton between Coldwater and Woodruff.
