Through two quarters in the Mid-American Conference opener, the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks boast a 28-14 lead over the Chippewas at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Miami quarterback Gus Ragland has led a dynamic offensive attack with 198 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Ragland also scored on the ground as he ran it into the end zone from six-yards out on the game’s opening drive.

He found tight end Quentin Hardy for a three-yard touchdown at the 1:19 mark of the first quarter to go up 14-0.

CMU quarterback Shane Morris was only 9-for-20 passing for 123 yards in the first half, but did score on a two-yard keeper with 10:39 left in the second quarter.

The RedHawks quickly responded with a 50-yard touchdown pass from Ragland to Sam Martin on a three-play, 77-yard drive that took only 1:19 off the clock.

Leading 21-7, Miami running back Kenny Young scored from 31-yards out, capping a two-play, 52-yard drive to extend the lead to three scores.
