Former CMU quarterback makes NFL debut

Former CMU quarterback Cooper Rush made his NFL debut for the Dallas Cowboys against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. 

Rush completed 1-of-2 passes for two yards and tallied 13 yards rushing in the Cowboys’ 40-10 win.

The CMU alumnus was named active for the first time in his career. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott was previously backed up by Kellen Moore. 

Rush went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. 

The quarterback finished his career second all-time with 67 touchdown passes and third all-time with 9,354 yards. In his senior year, he was named to the second team All-MAC squad and served as a team captain.
