The Central Michigan University Police Department reported a pair of burglaries at the Towers residence halls this week.

On Friday, Nov. 3, CMUPD received a report of a burglary in Cobb Hall. Residents returned to their dorm and found multiple electronic items stolen, police said. The incident took place between 8-9:15 p.m. Nov. 3.

CMUPD received a report of a wallet stolen from Wheeler Hall on Saturday, Nov. 4. Police said multiple attempts were made to make unauthorized purchases. This took place between 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.

Both incidents are under investigation, according to police. CMUPD offered these tips to those who live in residence halls.

  • Lock residence hall doors when no one is home.
  • Do not let people they don't know into the living areas of their residence halls.
  • Report suspicious people to CMUPD as soon as possible.

Anyone with any information about these incidents are asked to call CMUPD at 989-774-3081.

A university-wide email announcing these incidents was sent out late Saturday night.
