Central Michigan University’s African Student Association will host the second annual SANKOFA Pan-African Culture show on at 6 p.m Feb. 10 in Plachta Auditorium.

At the event, attendees can expect to experience Africa through food, music, dance and fashion, said coordinator Candy Boakyewaa.

“We are having the event because it is important to include the African Continent and its diaspora in the celebration of Black History Month,” Boakyewaa said. “We also want to showcase the Africa  we know and bust the myths and stereotypes that have been created about the continent.”

Performers from Michigan State University will be performing, and designers from both Grand Rapids and Detroit will be showcased.

The culture show will be split into two events; a main event and fashion show in Plachta Auditorium at 6 p.m., followed by a reception and exhibition to display various artists and designers' works at 8 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Rotunda.
