The College of Medicine received national-level accreditation for its continuing medical education programs.

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) awarded Central Michigan University with accreditation with commendation through 2024.

The college was previously accredited at the state level for continuing medical education in Saginaw.

ACCME reviewed CMED’s self-study report and conducted an accreditation interview. According to University Communications, the council appreciated “CMED’s strategies to overcome barriers to change, its collaboration with stakeholders and its focus on continued improvement.”

Other colleges in Michigan with the ACCME accreditation with commendation include the University of Michigan School of Medicine, the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Wayne State University School of Medicine and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

CMU’s Office of Continuing Medical Education provides educational opportunities for faculty and physicians in Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay region.
