Free food, live music, caricatures and the chance to throw a pie at a faculty member are all a part of the Maroonziee event on April 27 from noon to 3 p.m.

Maroonziee is the last event of the year CMU Program Board will put on. It will take place in Warriner Mall, the grassy area near Grawn Hall.

"We really want to focus on giving students a way to destress and celebrate at the end of the year," said Muskegon senior and Program Board Vice President Kaitlyn Reed, who is running the event.

The event is completely free and open to everyone, Reed said.

From 1:30-2:30 p.m. is the "pie smash." Faculty members and student volunteers will have pies thrown in their face to raise money for Angel Wings Fund, a nonprofit organization ran by Student Activities and Involvement Director Damon Brown to raise money for cancer awareness and research.

Pining, Pineapple Psychology and Wails will perform music live and caricature artist Corby Blem will draw students throughout the event. Cookies, cotton candy and snow cones will also be offered for free during the event.

Three inflatable obstacle courses and games will also be at the event. Reed said the event will continue inside Finch Fieldhouse if it rains.
