At the 2018 Journalism Internship Fair different agencies and organizations will give students the opportunity to apply for professional experiences as interns in Spring, Summer or Fall 2019.

The internship fair will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the Bovee University Center Rotunda Room.

In 2017, several public relation agencies and organizations including Edwards and Associates, Eisbrenner Public Relations, Tanner-Friedman, Ziibiwing Cultural Center, WCFX-Radio and The Dow Chemical Company attended the Public Relations Student Society of America's (PRSSA) Journalism Internship Fair.

The fair will be hosted again by PRSSA – an organization that provides members with the readiness and resources needed to succeed in public relations – with the help of Central Michigan University's Department of Journalism.

Journalism instructor Jim Wojcik said roughly 30 Michigan agencies, businesses and non-profits will have tables set up with representatives for students to build connections and relationships with.

The event is directed toward public relations and advertisement students interested in securing an internship for Spring, Fall or Summer 2019. Journalism, communications, graphic design, marketing and event planning students are also welcome to attend.

Wojcik said he recommends students come "rather decently dressed" with portfolios, sample clips and resumes.

Even in the cold November temperatures, Wojcik said he would not put it past college students to attend wearing tank tops and flip-flops.
