The City of Mount Pleasant is delaying recycling and trash pickup by one day due to winter weather conditions.

The extremely low temperatures will push back Wednesday pickups until Thursday, Jan. 31 and Thursday pickups until Friday, Feb. 1, according to a press release from the City of Mount Pleasant.

“Due to the extremely cold temperatures, Republic Services, the City of Mount Pleasant’s refuse hauler, and MMI, the City’s recycling hauler will not run their Wednesday, Jan. 30 routes,” the press release said.

The city will open a warming center at Isabella County Commission that will be open both Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's located at 2200 S. Lincoln Rd.

Weather updates from the city will be posted on its various Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as their Community Information Line at (989) 779-5320.
