Police asking public to help identify robbery suspect

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is seeking help from the community to help identify a man who was caught robbing a local convenience store at on Jan. 22. 

The Store, located at 2128 S. Mission St., reported the robbery at around 1 p.m. The lone clerk at the counter said the man made conversation at the counter and then hopped over the counter to raid the register. 

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s with a thin beard and over six-feet tall. 

Surveillance footage shows the man wearing a black hat with the number one or seven on the front, a black and gray hooded sweatshirt, dark gray Nike sweatpants and gray and red basketball shoes.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident, or the identity of the subject, to call the Anonymous Tip Line at 989-779-9111.
