Central Michigan defensive backs Da'Quaun Jamison (6) and Demarcus Governor (26) celebrate after an interception against Bowling Green Oct. 19 at Doyt L. Perry Stadium in Bowling Green.

Central Michigan's DaQuaun Jamison has been named as the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.

The senior safety hauled in two interceptions, had six tackles and hurried quarterback Grant Loy three times in the Chippewas' 38-20 win over Bowling Green on Oct. 19 at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

Going into the game against the Falcons, Jamison had just one career interception and had twice as many in the win over BGSU.

Jamison, from Leesburg, Georgia, helped lead CMU to its first road win of 2019 and first since 2017.

The Chippewas are 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-American Conference and travel to Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
