Dimondale man arrested for domestic violence

A 27-year-old male from Dimondale was arrested for domestic violence, malicious destruction of property and interfering with a telecommunication device on Sunday, Oct. 20.

According to a redacted police report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the incident occurred on Washington Street at around 2:30 p.m. 

The man assaulted an ex-girlfriend, causing bruising on her forehead, re-opening a pre-existing wound on her face and pulling fistfuls of hair.

The man also broke her cell phone, tablet and car windshield. The total damage cost is approximately $900.

According to the report, neither alcohol or a controlled substance were a factor in the incident.

The case was turned over to a tribal prosecutor and a copy will be sent to a federal prosecutors office for review.
