Dee's Vocal Competition is a vocal scholarship competition for Central Michigan University students.

The annual competition will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 in Chamichian Recital Hall in the school of music.

Music faculty member Amanda Pabyan said students must be pursuing a Bachelor of Music, Arts, Science or Music Education to be eligible. They also need a 3.0 GPA or higher and be a senior (having at least 86 credits) in fall 2020.

An outside adjudicator will judge the students as they present three selections.

This year, the judge is Richard Fracker, Michigan State University College of Music professor of voice and area chair of vocal arts.

The winning student will earn and receive a financial award in fall 2020.

The event is free and open to the public.

"This is a great opportunity to see some wonderful singing from our students and support these competitors as they perform in the hopes of receiving scholarship money," Pabyan said.
