Bright lights, giant floats and holiday festivities will be returning to Mount Pleasant this December during the city's annual Mount Pleasant Christmas Celebration.

The festivities will take place Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday Dec. 7. for the 26th iteration of the event, according to a press release from the City of Mount Pleasant. The celebration features many activities and events, but most notably the annual Lighted Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The parade typically features around 60-70 entries, Downtown Development Director Michelle Sponseller said. This year, the parade will feature contests for “Most Lights,” “Most Creative/Best Craftsmanship,” “Most Holiday Spirit,” and “Best in Show." For anyone interested in participating in the parade, registration must be turned in by Dec. 4 at the Recreation Department at City Hall.
