Central Michigan's men's basketball home game against Akron moved to Feb. 14

The Central Michigan men's basketball team before a game against Northern Illinois Jan. 7 at McGuirk Arena.

Central Michigan's Feb. 15 home game against Akron has been moved up and will be nationally televised. 

The showdown between two squads at the top of their respective divisions within the Mid-American Conference has been moved up to Friday, Feb. 14.

It will tip-off at 7 p.m. in McGuirk Arena and will be televised nationally on ESPNU. 

This marks the second time this season the Chippewas will have their game moved up a day in order to play on national television. Their road game against Buffalo, originally scheduled for Feb. 8, was moved up to Feb. 7. That game will also be played on ESPNU and will tip-off at 9 p.m in Buffalo’s Alumni Arena. 

Currently, the Chippewas sit in a tie for first place in the MAC West Division with Ball State. Each team holds a 4-2 record in conference play, however the Chippewas currently hold the tiebreaker thanks to their 71-66 victory over the Cardinals on Jan. 25. 

The Zips are currently tied for first place in the MAC East with Bowling Green, with each holding a 6-1 conference record.
