For nurses at Central Michigan Community Hospital, 1221 South Drive, 4 a.m. falls in the middle of the work day.

Promise funds not awarded

More than 2,700 Central Michigan University students who are eligible for the Michigan Promise Scholarship won’t be given the money with it until the state budget is approved.

Diane Fleming, associate director of scholarships and financial aid, said CMU made the decision not to prematurely award students the money until they know the status of the state’s budget.

Let’s do the Dishes closing after five years

Another Mount Pleasant business will be closing its doors come Aug. 22.

Let’s do the Dishes, a paint-your-own-pottery studio located at 100 S. Mission St., will close later this month.

But this closure isn’t because business is poor.

“If we weren’t moving, this store would not be closing,” said owner Michelle Booher.

CBA Dean accepts position at Florida’s Nova Southeastern University

Central Michigan University is losing another top-ranking official.

Mike Fields, dean of the College of Business Administration, has accepted a position at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

“It is very much with mixed emotions,” Fields said.
