SOUTH BEND, IND — It took two minutes and 29 seconds for Notre Dame to show the CMU soccer team how dangerous its offense could be.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A season that began with a 2-1 exhibition win against Big East member Pittsburgh came to an end Sunday to fellow Big East member Notre Dame.
The soccer team lost 6-1 to Notre Dame in the second round of the NCAA tournament Sunday at South Bend.
The season continues for the soccer team.
In its first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, CMU defeated No. 24 Purdue 2-0 on Friday in South Bend.
The soccer team will play in its first-ever NCAA tournament game today in South Bend.
Central (16-3-3) plays Purdue (12-5-3) at 5 p.m., with the winner playing the winner of No. 2 seed Notre Dame and IUPUI.
Steve Brown has won the last two Mid-American Conference Championships he competed in.
Two seasons ago, Brown won at 157 pounds, defeating Bryan O’Connor from Northern Illinois 7-3 in the finals.
