Volleyball swept by Marquette

The CMU volleyball team lost its final match of the season in a 3-0 sweep against Marquette.

Coach Erik Olson scheduled the post-Mid-American Conference match to prepare the program for an NCAA Tournament bid.

Bobcats end volleyball’s MAC run

The CMU volleyball team’s Mid-American Conference season concluded after advancing to the tournament semifinals for the first time since 1996.

Central lost 3-1 against No. 1 seed Ohio on Saturday after sweeping Northern Illinois in the quarterfinal round.

Sports Update: Volleyball advances to MAC semifinals

The volleyball team was able to repeat its sweep against Northern Illinois to advance to the semifinals in the Mid-American Conference tournament for the first time since 1996 Friday in Toledo.

“It was a big time match big time performance,” said coach Erik Olson. “We already knew each other so well and we played each other so recently that we knew exactly what they wanted to do and vice versa. But we were able to take advantage of it more.”

Volleyball faces NIU in MAC tourney

The CMU volleyball team gets a rematch of its final regular-season match today in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

The Chippewas play Northern Illinois at 11 a.m. in the Seagate Center in Toledo.
The Chippewas swept NIU in their last meeting Nov. 14. The winner of today’s match advances to the semifinal match.

Volleyball advances to second round of MACs

After squandering a seven-point lead in the fourth set, the CMU volleyball team was able to rally in the final set and advance to the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference tournament.

Volleyball enters MAC tourney as No. 5 seed

The CMU volleyball team enters the Mid-American Conference tournament as the No. 5 seed and will host Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Arena.
